ANCICH PARK PLANNING OPEN HOUSE SET FOR MAY 22ND

Gig Harbor, Wash. May 9, 2013 The City of Gig Harbor will host a public open house on Wednesday May 22nd, 2013 from 4-6:30pm regarding the future of the Ancich Property. The open house will share the findings of two recent stakeholder workshops hosted by the Gig Harbor Parks Commission. The open house will be held at the Gig Harbor Civic Center, 3510 Grandview Street, Gig Harbor.

In April 2013 stakeholders worked collaboratively to establish common goals for the site as well as schematic space planning outlines. The open house will provide the public an opportunity to review findings, learn next steps, and provide input into the process.

The City of Gig Harbor purchased the Ancich waterfront property at 3518 Harborview Drive in August of 2012 to add to the waterfront park system. In February of 2013, City Council requested the Parks Commission facilitate a community visioning process for the future of the property. Through the input of a broad community-based stakeholders committee of volunteers, a formal prioritized list of recommended uses will be forwarded to the City Council by early fall.
