Fun, Frisbees, and Fly Fishing at June's Thursday Night Out

Gig Harbor, WA – With Father's Day just around the corner, Thursday Night Out on June 12th has some special fun planned just for Dads! Roving "Ambassadors" will be distributing a cool, collapsible Frisbee to the first 150 Dads, courtesy of the Downtown Waterfront Alliance; and The Gig Harbor Fly Shop will be holding a free Fly Fishing Workshop and Demo at 6pm. Join Gig Harbor Audio where Erik and Matt will host a live recording session (3019 Judson St, right behind A Prima Salon). Music will be performed by Gig Harbor's very own Josh Brulotte and Eric Mickleson from the band, "Early Birds." They will record songs using a lovingly restored vintage Pioneer RT707 reel to reel and two pro mics. Compare live to tape. Starts at 7pm. "No cuts, edits or start overs!"

Thursday Night Out businesses offer something for all the Dads and their families and friends to enjoy! Over 50 stores, art galleries and restaurants will be open, and live entertainment will be featured throughout the downtown waterfront.

The Gig Harbor Gallery Association's monthly Artwalk features 12 galleries showcasing an outstanding collection of art, photography, jewelry and gifts. Several will feature live artist demonstrations. Among them are Gallery Row artist Sharon Carr demonstrating her painting techniques; Artist Nola Waller, a nautical, landscape and portrait watercolor artist at Water's Edge Gallery; metal artist Devin Reynolds will discuss his techniques and work that is on display at 7 Seas Brewing; and there's always interesting work being created at Gig Harbor's first true Lampworking Studio and Gallery, Turner Glass Works, located in the Harbor Landing Mall near El Pueblito.

Each month, live entertainment is featured throughout the Downtown Waterfront. Performers scheduled for June include fabulous guitarist/vocalist Rick Gonzalez with Ike Sutton at Full Moon Art Gallery; Thea Westcott with Jake Faircloth at Kit Kuhn, A Jeweler Designed for You, guitarists Mary Farr and Dusty Hayes at Devoted Kiss Cafe; the talented Luke Stanton at the Skansie Net Shed, guitarist Ross Todzrak at Ship to Shore Marine; and the always entertaining Pop Star Kids at the Harbor History Museum.

To add some fun and help you get around to all the participating businesses in the downtown waterfront, the Pierce Transit "Get Around Gig Harbor" Trolley operates until 8:30pm on Thursday nights.
