Gig Harbor Gets A Fresh New Neighbor: Main & Vine Grocery Store Opens February 2016

Community market makes eating well simple, fun and affordable

SEATTLE, Wash. – Dec. 22, 2015 – Celebrating a place where locals and local foods intertwine, a new concept grocery store – Main & Vine – is planting roots in Gig Harbor, with doors slated to open in February 2016. The community-focused store is moving in to the former QFC space in the Harbor Plaza (5010 Point Fosdick Dr. NW), and will offer a seasonally-curated array of products, including fresh, organic, local and sustainable foods, alongside an assortment of go-to big brand staples, all at affordable prices.

“The Pacific Northwest is a hotbed of fantastic artisans and producers, and we know there’s a strong interest for organic, fresh and unprocessed food, but also for those mainstream items and little indulgences that families both want and need. That’s where Main & Vine comes in,” said Dann Kohl, Main & Vine’s store manager. “Our store will not only offer the freshest foods and mainstream grocery items at affordable prices, but we’re also incorporating daily in-store programming and events that will give our shoppers a deeper connection to their food sources.”

Beyond the wide variety of products offered, the 27,000-square-foot market will host unique culinary experiences with local chefs and farmers, with how-to tips and tasty meal ideas offered daily. On top of customary store sections like produce, dairy, meat and seafood, the location will also include a coffee, wine and beer bar at designated times during the day, as well as a dual level café area where customers can enjoy the store’s prepared items, or gather with friends and family.

The new store was developed by The Kroger Co., parent company of familiar Northwest brands QFC and Fred Meyer, and is the first Main & Vine to open in the country.

As Main & Vine gears up for its debut, it is actively hiring team members, and is pleased to have many former QFC-employees from the community returning as team members. Interested applicants can visit www.mainandvineshop.com.
