GIG HARBOR LITTLE LEAGUE TO HOST TWO REGIONAL AND ONE STATE TOURNAMENT

Gig Harbor, Wash. –May 2013, Gig Harbor Wash – Beautiful Gig Harbor will be the host to three Little League tournaments this summer bringing hundreds of families to the area. June 29 – July 9th the Regional District Tournament will bring 26 teams to the area for the 9-10 year old district and the 10-11 year old all-star tournaments. Followed quickly by a ten day statewide tournament in July when the Gig Harbor Little League hosts the 2013 Washington State Little League Tournament for ten and eleven year olds July 18 – 28th.

“We have been hoping for this event for years,” said Ron Brentin, Vice President of Facilities. “We are really excited to bring this event to Gig Harbor.”

In preparation for these events, the Gig Harbor Little League is working very hard to get their fields prepared including constructing new restrooms and a brand new concessions stand at the fields which are located at 10819 50th Avenue NW, Gig Harbor.

President Dan Lean says they expect the July event, which will bring 13 teams from around the state, to draw hundreds to the community, packing the bleachers, local restaurants, shops and hotels. The public is invited to share in the enthusiasm and come out for the games, which are free for spectators. More information will be coming regarding the schedule and the teams as the tournament draws near. The schedule will be posted at www.gigharborlittleleague.com

Gig Harbor Little League is an all-volunteer organization, with some 25 year-around volunteers keeping the organization running, with many other volunteer coaches and assistants helping during the season. Since its inception in 1995 GHLL has provided baseball experience for over 10,000 local kids who have enjoyed America’s favorite pastime right here in Gig Harbor.
