Sea Safety And Survival Course Instruction At Gig Harbor Boatshop

Tuesday, March 17th, 2015

Gig Harbor BoatShop and Washington Sea Grant are co-sponsoring a Sea Safety and Survival Course for commercial fishermen and charter boat operators. This Coast Guard approved course meets the training requirements of the Commercial Fishing Safety Act to conduct drills. Course work combines lecture and hands on experience with safety & survival equipment required for commercial fishing vessels. Participants will learn about emergency procedures and will be trained to develop appropriate emergency drills for their own vessels. This program will be held at the Gig Harbor BoatShop, 3805 Harborview Drive, Gig Harbor on Tues, March 17th from 8:00am-5:00pm. Due to limited space, pre-registration is required. Cost is free to commercial fishermen, $100 otherwise. For more information or to pre-register, contact Sarah Fisken at WA Sea Grant, sfisken@uw.edu, 206-543-1225.
