The 18th Annual Gig Harbor Garden Tour blooms June 27th & 28th

Gig Harbor, Wash. May 26th, 2015 - Tickets will go on sale June 1st for Gig Harbor’s annual Garden Tour now in its 18th year. The two-day, self-guided tour, showcasing outstanding gardens in the Gig Harbor area, takes place on Saturday and Sunday June 27 & 28th. Saturday hours are 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Sunday hours are 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Tickets will be available for purchase in person and online beginning June 1st at several locations in Pierce County. The Gig Harbor locations are ACE-Gig Harbor, The Garden Room, Wilco, WildBirds Unlimited, Rosedale Gardens, and Sunnycrest Nursery in Lakebay. Tacoma locations include Willow Tree Nursery and Garden Sphere Nursery. The cost is $25 ($20 for groups of 10 or more). To purchase tickets online go to www.gigharborgardentour.org. All online tickets purchased after June 21 must be picked up at our will-call location, the Ebb Tide Gallery, 7809 Pioneer Way, Gig Harbor.
In addition to exploring beautiful and enchanting gardens up close and personal, tour goers are invited to number of FREE presentations which include:
· Dan Hinkley, Thursday, June 25th 7pm at the Wesley Inn, located at 6575 Kimball Drive
· Sue Goetz, Sunday, June 28th, 2pm at ACE, located at 4816 Point Fosdick Drive NW
· Three In-Garden demonstrations. Details are listed in the program book.
The official 2015 Garden Tour artist is Lynda Lindner. A poster featuring “Foxgloves” will be available for sale during the tour.
The mission of the Gig Harbor Garden Tour is to promote literacy by supporting educational programs for children and adults in the greater Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula area. Last year’s proceeds were distributed to six deserving literacy programs: Discovery Elementary School, Communities in Schools of Peninsula, Tacoma Community College High School Completion Program, Reach Out and Read (Pediatrics Northwest), Evergreen Elementary School and Key Peninsula Preschool.
