Thursday Night Out on the Gig Harbor Waterfront is August 14th!
Gig Harbor, WA – The Downtown Waterfront will be open from 5 - 8pm with plenty of fun activities during Thursday Night Out August 14th. Nearly 50 retailers, art galleries and restaurants will be participating. Live music will once again be featured throughout with performances from Rick Gonzalez & Ike Sutton, Chuck Wayne & Robin, Richard Atkins, Andy Rebsamen and Dane Wallace.
Art Galleries will be having their monthly Artwalk with several demonstrations taking place. At Gallery Row, Brad Stave will be out front turning wood on his wood lathe and artist Christine Hella Cott Thompson will be the featured painter. Kit Kuhn will be demonstrating the art of Lost Wax Casting at 7pm at Kit Kuhn Jewelers, Photographer Jim Nelson will be on hand demonstrating his techniques at Water’s Edge Gallery, and Glass Artist Kathe Robel will be featured at Full Moon Art Gallery. Refreshments will also be served during Art Walk.
Retailers and restaurants will have plenty of fun activities and special offers. Cougarwear will be having a Cougar Cheese Tasting party, and this month’s flavor is Oreganato cheese (Oregano and Tomato). Customers can enter a raffle to win a $25 gift certificate while checking out all the new Seattle Seahawks and Sounders merchandise. At 7 Seas Brewery, save $1 off a pint by wearing 7 Seas gear and asking the bartender for a high five! At Gig Harbor Audio, the "Be-Bop Co-op" jazz group will be playing live and will be serving refreshments. No Dearth of Books will have a "Bag Sale on the Porch". Buy a bag for $5 and fill with as many books as you can. At McBeckland’s Ladies Boutique, customers can enter to win a free gift, and Morrison House/Sotheby’s will be having a unique evening of “Sips and Bites” and more surprises! The Keeping Room will be active with more new wine tastings, and Kelly’s will be having their fabulous Prime Rib Night. Morso will present The Muse at Morso, a monthly program with premier authors and poets, featuring poet Raul Sanchez at 7pm.
Participating businesses can be found on the waterfront as far south as 7 Seas Brewing and Gig Harbor Audio; as far north as Morso, Anthony’s and Peacock Hill Gallery, and everywhere in between. The “Get Around Gig Harbor” Trolley operates on Thursday nights to make it easier to visit businesses throughout.
