Waterfront Alliance To Recognize Historic Houses

2014 logoA program to identify the many historic houses along the downtown waterfront will begin this year. The Design Committee of the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance will be identifying potential homes to recognize. These will be older downtown homes that have a community story to tell about early construction and our history. Each year several homes will be selected and with the permission of the current owner, an interpretive plaque will be placed near the sidewalk.

The Alliance mission is to promote economic vitality and preserve the historic character of our community. A committee of the Alliance, including Gary Glein, Tomi Kent-Smith, Jennifer Kester, Katherine Hensler, and Mike Henery, is coordinating this new program.

If you feel your home should be considered, please contact Mary DesMarais at the Alliance at 253-514-0071 or info@ghhwa.org.
