The Shenandoah will become the center piece of the new Harbor History Museum opening in Spring of 2008. The Shenandoah is an authentic 65 foot purse seiner, like dozens that once graced Gig Harbor bay. Today only a handful remain in operation. Tony Janovich donated The Shenandoah to the museum in 2000 after spending 58 years as a commercial fisherman. After restoration, visitors will be able to explore around and aboard the vessel with exhibits that help bring the history and technology of this vital industry to life.
