Visiting Gig Harbor By Boat Is What We Do

Jerisich Dock, our city dock, is first come-first served and moorage reservations are not required or taken. The dock offers 420 feet of linear moorage. Transient moorage payment is required between 8PM and 8AM. This fee includes water and power. Fees are as follows:

  • Friday before Memorial Day through Labor Day: $1.00 per foot, with a minimum charge of $20/night.
  • All other days: $0.50 per foot, with a minimum charge of $10/night.

sailboatSeasonal water and pump-out is available April 1 thru Nov 1. Except for city-owned or boats receiving prior authorization from the city, a boat shall not be moored at the dock and/or a mooring buoy in excess of three overnight periods, whether continuous or not, within any 10-day period. For more information, please refer to GHMC Chapter 8.28 PUBLIC DOCKS – JERISICH.

There is also overnight moorage available at:

  • Arabella’s Landing Marina (253-851-1793)
  • Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard (253-858-3535)
  • Peninsula Yacht Basin (253-858-2250)

There are two mooring buoys available adjacent to Jerisich Dock for boats up to 32 feet in length. There is no cost for using the buoys, but registration is still required and the 3-day time limit is also in effect.

Gig Harbor Police Department has a Marine Services Unit that can answer any questions or help you out. They can be reached at (253) 851-2236 and the patrol boat is usually on duty during summer weekends. Hail “Gig Harbor Police Marine Patrol” on VHF channel 16.

Is it easy to get reservations to stay overnight by boat in Gig Harbor? Yes! By calling the phone numbers listed for Arabella’s Landing, Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard or Peninsula Yacht Basin, moorage is often available. If those facilities are full, our city dock is a good alternative OR you could easily anchor in Gig Harbor. The sandy/mud bottom provides excellent holding for your anchor and there is a dinghy dock at the city dock and several businesses throughout the harbor.

Our Gig Harbor Maritime Pier (adjacent to the Tides Tavern) is available for quick drop-off and pick-up. There is a 15-minute time limit at this facility. Boats must be attended at all times while at this dock.

Boats are free to anchor anywhere in Gig Harbor for a maximum of 30 consecutive days and no longer than 90 days in any 365-day period. We would encourage transient boaters to anchor on the north side of the bay (which we actually call “East” Gig Harbor) in order to stay out of the way of marina traffic.
