CENTURYLINK INVITES COMMUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN 'TOGETHER WE CAN' FOOD DRIVE

July 14, 2010; Gig Harbor, WA – CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL) invites its local communities to help in their efforts to collect 500,000 pounds of food in its second annual “Together We Can” food drive scheduled for July 26-30. Last July, the company’s employees collected more than 483,000 pounds of food across its 33-state footprint to benefit community food banks.

“CenturyLink is committed to contributing to the quality of life in our communities,” said Larry Van Camp, Area Operations Manager. “We know that hunger is increasing at an alarming rate in the United States, and we are excited about inviting local citizens to tackle this crisis with us.”

Nationwide, CenturyLink will conduct food drives in approximately 240 locations. According to Feeding America, $1 can provide seven meals. In Gig Harbor, donations will go to Gig Harbor Peninsula FISH. Donations made via checks payable to the same organization will also be collected. Individuals can drop off non-perishable food items at:
