Funding for this project will be from a grant that the City received from the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board, additional City funds and private developer dollars.

Anticipated Preliminary Project Schedule

The City is currently out to public bid on this project and is scheduled to open bids on April 10, 2012. Following the bid opening the City will choose a contractor and award the construction contract at the April 23rd council meeting. Due to funding requirements the City will be issuing the Notice to Proceed on or before May 18, 2012 and we anticipate the bulk of construction to begin shortly after that date. Prior to May 18th you may see some preliminary construction being performed by Century Link, Puget Sound Energy, and Peninsula Light Company as they relocate their existing utilities to accommodate the project’s construction needs.

Project Milestones- PROJECT IS A GO!

On March 3, 2012 the members of the City of Gig Harbor City Council approved an agreement that commits funding for this project. The City appreciates the partnering efforts of a local developer (Hogan Enterprises) and staff members of the State Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) to make this possible.

Upcoming Public Meetings

A final public meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 9th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the City of Gig Harbor Civic Center.
