Downtown Waterfront Alliance Historic Homes Project Continues

Malich Family with Sign
Gig Harbor has a rich collection of historic homes and buildings along the downtown waterfront. We are proud to celebrate our unique heritage through the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance Historic Home Recognition Project.

We invite you to share the history and tell the story of your historic home by applying for a custom-made historic plaque for display at your site. The first sign can be viewed at the “Malich Home” at 3514 Harborview Drive. This program is sponsored by the Downtown Waterfront Alliance and its purpose is to raise public awareness of Gig Harbor’s unique history and to encourage the preservation of our heritage. Your home site need not be an officially designated landmark or within an historic district to participate in the Alliance House Recognition Project. If alterations have been made to the home, that will be a part of the story.

The program is completely voluntary, and at some time in the future, the program hopes to offer walking tours of Gig Harbor’s beautiful, historic properties.

If you would like to have your home considered for this project, please contact Mary DesMarais at the Alliance at 253-514-0071 or info@ghhwa.org.
