GIG HARBOR FARMERS MARKET MOVES TO UPTOWN

Gig Harbor, Wash. March 3, 2011 Opening April 2nd, (8:30am-2pm) the Gig Harbor Farmers Market will now be located at UPTOWN! Dale Schultz, the director of the Gig Harbor Farmers Market says “This should be a win/win for everyone! Good for Uptown Merchants, good for the Gig Harbor Farmers Market customers with ease of parking and attending the market and good for vendors with easy load and unload area!”

The new location will provide excellent parking and bring a lively mix of activities each Saturday to Uptown. Throughout the year Uptown has multiple special events (see below), and the Farmers Market also has events such as weekly entertainment and free guitar, uke, banjo and mandolin lessons. The last Saturday of each month the Farmer Market will also host a “Cruise-In for Hot Rods” during the market.

This year a new vendor will join the market family, Palms Ranch on Ray Nash Drive sells locally grown grass fed beef.

The Gig Harbor Farmers Market opens on Saturday April 2nd and runs each Saturday from 8:30am – 2pm through September 24th. As always, the final day of the market in September will be the Gig Harbor Chowder Cook Off!

The Wednesday Farmers Market will continue at Skansie Brothers Park downtown this summer, opening in June and running noon – 5pm.
