May 2010, Gig Harbor Wash; Now, in its 13th year, the Gig Harbor Garden Tour, a two day affair in June, offers well known garden speakers as part of the weekend’s events.

This year’s speakers include;

Marianne Binetti – Peninsula Gardens, Saturday June 26th at 1:00 p.m.

“Edible Gardening”

A northwest horticultural expert, Marianne has a degree in horticulture from Washington State University and writes a syndicated gardening column that runs in over a dozen newspapers each week including the Tacoma News Tribune (Wednesdays) and The Daily Olympian (Saturdays). She has also written or co-written 10 gardening books that include “Easy Answers for Great Gardens” and her latest book “Edible Gardening for Washington and Oregon”. Marianne lectures and gives seminars on a variety of topics and leads garden tours around the world with her husband Joe. She lives in Enumclaw, Washington

Sue Goetz – Ace Hardware on Point Fosdick June 27th at 2:00 p.m.

“Paint by Number Perennial Combinations”

Local garden designer, writer and speaker, Sue Goetz , the Creative Gardener, works on landscape design projects big and small and her work has earned her gold medals at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show and the Point Defiance Flower and Garden Show. She has also been recognized by Fine Gardening magazine for “Best Design” and has been noted as one of the top 50 garden designers in Northwest Home and Garden Magazine. Sue writes timely garden articles for the Tacoma News Tribune, the Peninsula Gateway and West Sound Home and Garden. Sue lives and gardens in Gig Harbor, Washington.
