Gig Harbor, WA (April 19, 2011) - The Gig Harbor Historic Waterfront Association (GHHWA), announced the election of Gary Glein to the Presidency of GHHWA. Gary has served as a member of the Organization Committee and as Chairman of the Economic Development Committee.

He was recently appointed to the Board of Directors. Gary will be replacing Al Abbott who tendered his resignation from the Board stating his need to focus on his growing client base, and the needs of his company. Abbott endorsed his belief in the GHHWA by saying, “This is a great organization with much to offer and much to give to our fabulous community… I support all that the Historic Waterfront Association stands for and does.” In response to his resignation, Paul Kadzik, GHHWA Vice-President said, “We very much appreciate all that Al brought to the organization. We understand and value his commitment to his business and we will miss him on the GHHWA Board.”

In response to Gary Glein’s taking over the Presidency of GHHWA, Kadzik said “Gary’s involvement in the Association almost since its inception provides him with a wealth of knowledge as well as an excellent understanding of our goals and work plans. His past experience as a consultant and business owner, along with his being a long-time Gig Harbor resident, gives him the insight necessary to lead this organization and move us forward.”  Gary indicated he is, “excited about the role the Association can play in working together with the city, merchants, and property owners to promote economic vibrancy consistent with preserving the character of the downtown waterfront area.”

In other board action, Bill Fogarty, local art gallery owner, GHHWA volunteer, and long-time downtown business advocate, was also appointed to the board. Glein and Fogarty join current board members Paul Kadzik, DDS, Nancy Stolz, Randy Blue, Steve Lynn, Lita Dawn Stanton, Guy Hoppen, Jannae Jolibois, Lloydette Roberts and Jennifer Kilmer.  These additions to the GHHWA Board of Directors ensure the organization will continue to benefit from a diversity of experience and opinions.
