Girls Night Out Goodie Bag Pre-Sales on October 25
Girls Night Out, Gig Harbor’s award winning shopping and dining event presented by the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance, will take place on Thursday, November 8. But the excitement really begins two weeks before that on Thursday, October 25th at 7am when those ever popular, red Girls Night Out Goodie Bags and event programs go on pre-sale. The bags are so popular they have sold out within hours after the pre-sale begins. For this reason, ladies should plan ahead to snag a bag! “Each of the last few years we’ve made 1500 bags available, thanks to the incredible generosity of our downtown waterfront merchants” said Josh Sherwin, Special Projects Coordinator for the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance. Goodie Bags contain fun trinkets, small gifts, experiences and games provided by downtown businesses that add plenty of fun to the day-long shopping and dining experience. This year’s goodie bag sponsor is dolly mama boutique.
“When you think about it, providing items to go into 1500 bags is a lot to ask of the businesses” Sherwin says. “Every year our businesses amaze us; it’s easy to see why the bags are so popular.” Ladies don’t actually take the bag home when it is pre-purchased, it simply ensures that a bag will be waiting for them at the Girls Night Out event on November 8th. “What they will take home,” according to Sherwin, “is a valuable Event Program/Coupon Book that includes everything they need to plan their time at Girls Night Out.” The program includes maps showing participating businesses, activity listings, door prizes, coupons and the route and stops for the two complimentary Trolleys. The trolleys offer a fun and convenient way for the ladies to get from one end of town to the other. “The fun doesn’t end when the ladies get their bag” Sherwin says, “in fact, the fun is just beginning!”
The Event Program/Coupon Book can be purchased by itself on October 25th for $10, a great value! Or, pre-purchase a Goodie Bag for $25 and the Event Program/Coupon Book is included with it. You will receive the book at the time of pre-purchase so it can be taken home and “studied” to prepare for Girls Night Out. In 2013, the Washington State Main Street Program presented the Alliance with an Excellence on Main Award for Girls Night Out. Now in its 9th year, it has become Gig Harbor’s largest shopping and dining event, featuring nearly 50 participating businesses along the downtown waterfront. “While its name implies it is an event that just takes place in the evening, that isn’t really true,” Sherwin added. “Our tag line is ‘shop and dine from 10 ‘til 9’ because it goes on all day.”
