Girls Night Out Goodie Bag Sales Begin October 27th!

High, in demand item sells out quickly

Gig Harbor, WA – October 5, 2016 – Goodie Bags are such a popular part of the Downtown Waterfront Alliance’s Girls Night Out that they always sell out fast. For this reason, ladies should plan ahead to pre-purchase them when they go on sale on Thursday, October 27 beginning at 7am at the locations listed below (while supplies last). “Every year we hear from disappointed ladies because the bags sold out before they could get one” says Josh Sherwin, Special Projects Coordinator for the Alliance. “Last year, 1,500 bags sold out in just 7 hours! This year we will once again make 1500 bags available, and based on what we’re hearing, we think they will sell out quickly once again.”

And now for the information the ladies have been waiting for! Bags cost $20 and can be pre-purchased at any of the following businesses while supplies last. Be sure to check the Girls Night Out Facebook page for any changes to this listing:

Amadora Salon, Bella Kitchen & Home, Charlie Barnes Kids, Devoted Kiss Cafe, Dolly Mama Boutique Home and Gallery (Pioneer location only), For the Love of Spice, Harbor History Museum, Harbor Home Creations, Java & Clay, Jax Salon & Spa, Kelly's Cafe & Espresso, Picture This a Gallery, Right at Home, Sea Hags, Sharon's Spa & Resale Boutique, Ship to Shore Marine, Tickled Pink, Waterfront Inn, The Harbor General Store, The Weathered Cottage, Wild Birds Unlimited, Williams Flower & Gift.

Goodie Bags contain fun trinkets, small gifts and games generously provided by participating downtown waterfront businesses. “When you think about it, providing items to go into 1500 bags is a lot to ask of the businesses,” Sherwin says. “Every year they amaze us with their generosity; it’s easy to see why the bags are so popular.” Ladies don’t actually take the bag home when it is pre-purchased, it simply ensures that a bag will be waiting for them at the Girls Night Out event on November 10th. “What they will take home,” according to Sherwin, “is a valuable Event Program that includes everything they need to plan their time at Girls Night Out.” The program includes maps showing participating businesses, activity listings, door prizes, coupons and the route and stops for the two complimentary Trolleys. The trolleys offer a fun and convenient way for the ladies to get from one end of town to the other. “The fun doesn’t end when the ladies get their bag” Sherwin says, “in fact, the fun is just beginning!”

In 2013, the Washington State Main Street Program presented the Alliance with an Excellence on Main Award for Girls Night Out. Now, in its 7th year it has become Gig Harbor’s largest shopping and dining event, featuring over 50 participating businesses along the waterfront. “While its name implies it is an event that just takes place in the evening, that isn’t really true,” Sherwin added. “Our tag line is ‘shop and dine from 10 ‘til 9’ because it really goes on all day.”

The Alliance would like to thank those businesses sponsoring Girls Night Out. Tickled Pink is the Goodie Bag sponsor. Allovus, Devoted Kiss Café and several Finholm District businesses are sponsoring a Trolley and a Searchlight. The Weathered Cottage is also a Searchlight sponsor. Picture This a Gallery is sponsoring a portion of the Event Program, Pierce Transit is sponsoring Transportation, and DPI Print is a Print sponsor.
