Holiday Tree Lighting Returns

Gig Harbor, Wash. – November 2, 2011 – Mark your calendars for the return of Gig Harbor’s much loved family tradition, the annual lighting of the holiday tree on the waterfront in historic downtown Gig Harbor, Saturday December 3, 2011 starting at 5PM.

City crews will be erecting the tree and decorating the town beginning November 21st in preparation for this local tradition. The event on December 3rd begins with holiday music and refreshments at Skansie Brothers Park as well as special treats for the kids. Santa arrives courtesy of the Gig Harbor Fire Department at 5:30PM and flips the switch lighting the tree and officially kicking off the holiday season in Gig Harbor.

Santa will visit with every child in Santa’s house on the deck following the lighting of the tree.

This annual event is put on by the City of Gig Harbor and sponsored by CenturyLink. Special thanks to the Gig Harbor Historic Waterfront Association for the refreshments and JBLM for donating the tree.
