LAST CHANCE to Sign up for the Basket Weaving Classes at the Harbor History Museum

This is your LAST CHANCE to sign up for the upcoming Basket Weaving and Bracelet Weaving classes on October 8th and 9th. The deadline to sign up for these classes is September 24 at 5:00pm.

We need at least four more registrants in each class in order to keep them from being cancelled, so if you've been thinking about signing up, now's the time to do it! Payment must be made to secure your spot in one of these fabulous classes taught by renowned basketmaker/artist and teacher Kathey Ervin. Adult Weaving Class - Cedar Bracelets

Students will be supplied with kits to make three bracelets, practicing different weaving patterns. Western red cedar, natural and dyed, will be woven with Alaskan yellow cedar bark.

This is a 6-hour class.

Adult Weaving Class - Cedar Baskets

An introduction to western red cedar bark basket making. You will learn the basics of a plaited spoke basket and twining techniques in northwest sweet grass. A decorative band in dyed cedar or wild cherry bark accents the basket and it is topped off with an almost magical rim! This is the prerequisite class for the other more advanced cedar baskets.

This is a 7-hour class.
