Live Music In Olalla in October

Lineup announced for 2016-17 Mostly Monthly Concert Series;

Jasper Lepak plays on Oct. 8

(OLALLA, WA.) Olalla’s Mostly Monthly house concert season will kick off Saturday, Oct. 8 with an evening with Seattle singer-songwriter Jasper Lepak. The concerts are held at the Olalla Community Hall and usually take place on the second Saturday of each month.

According to series producer Nolan Pepperdine, each event starts with an everyone-welcome potluck at 6 p.m. and the music begins at 7 p.m.

“Jaspar is a child of the Sonoran Desert who went on to travel the world,” Pepperdine said. “Her songs are very much influenced by the many places she has called home – like Tucson, Minneapolis and now Seattle. She’s a natural poet and she writes songs with an amazing emotional depth. For our Olalla show, she’ll be joined by her husband, Kale, on accordion. It’s going to be a great show to kick off this season’s music series.”

The monthly concerts are presented by the Olalla Community Club, a non-profit organization that has been serving the community since 1937. Suggested donation is $20, but nobody is ever turned away, Pepperdine said.

Upcoming concerts include Scott Mickelson on Nov. 12; holiday concert with Terry Holder – Dec. 17; FarmStrong – Jan 14; Hilary Scott – Feb. 11; Ira Wolf – March 11, Tim and Myles Thompson – April 8 and Kelly McRae on May 13.
