LONGBRANCH IMPROVEMENT CLUB CROQUET TOURNAMENT TO BENEFIT KEY PENINSULA FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION
Key Peninsula, WA – June 17, 2013 – The Longbranch Improvement Club (LIC) is sponsoring its fourth annual charity croquet tournament on Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 12-7 p.m. Four-person teams will compete for prizes ranging from best costumes and overall score to worst single stroke. Celebrity judges will officiate at each wicket.
This year, proceeds will benefit the Key Peninsula Firefighters Association, a non-profit organization supporting volunteer firefighters with training and equipment (http://kpvfd.org).
“To keep the game even more interesting we’ve added prize purses to each tournament round,” said Tim Heitzman, event organizer. “This is our fourth year, and it’s more fun every time. Last year’s teams are returning and new contenders are already practicing.”
Advance team registration is encouraged. Call 253-884-2222 or sign up online at www.licweb.org. Orders for $10 commemorative t-shirts and $60 team registrations must be received on or before July 11.
Sponsorship opportunities for individuals and companies are available; information is at the LIC website.
Admission is free for observers (including children) and pets are welcome. Food and beverage service will be available. All participants are asked to bring donations for the Key Peninsula Food Bank.
The Longbranch Improvement Club was founded in 1921 for the betterment of the community, and is located in the center of Longbranch at 4312 Key Peninsula Highway S., approximately 30 minutes from Gig Harbor, WA.
