Love of Horses and Music Drive

Singer/Songwriter Templeton Thompson

January 20, 2011 –Singer/songwriter Templeton Thompson draws from a deep well of influences that combine with her Texas roots to give her style of country music a distinctive, soulful edge. She names Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow and Don Williams as her most influential heroes. Templton Thompson is a playing at Morso as part of the Americana Music Series on Saturday February 5, 2011 at 8 pm.  Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at  http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/140761.

You can find her songs on million-selling CD's from country superstars like Reba McEntire, Jo Dee Messina and Little Texas. Her song, “Settle Down Cinderella” is featured in the 2006 20th Century Fox Motion Picture, “Dr. Doolittle 3.”  She's one of Nashville's sought after session vocalists having sung countless demos as well as background vocals for major label artists like Reba McEntire. She has performed on stage for audiences across the US, in Europe and in Japan. With 4 CDs to her credit, Templeton maintains a busy touring and promotional schedule.

Templeton has been named worldwide ambassador for EAGALA (the Equine Assisted Growth And Learning Association).  It is her love of horses that weaves throughout her music.

Templeton is a strong believer in the effectiveness of the therapeutic value of horses.  Dee Clark, founder of Healing Reins N.W. , describes equine assisted psychotherapy as uses horses in the process of helping people.  She said, “This cutting edge, accredited model is considered experiential therapy as it engages individuals cognitively, emotionally, spiritually and physically… in the moment.  Clients are able to experience growth and learning in tangible, real ways which allows them to better apply that learning to other areas of their lives.”  Dee was certified through EAGALA in 2002 and since then has combined her lifetime love and passion for horses with her mental health training to make the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning model one of a dynamic change and healing for people.   Healing Reins is a sponsor of Templeton’s  concert at Morso.
