Lunchbox Laboratory to open 3rd location in Gig Harbor in mid-October
Seattle, WA……September18th, 2013……………………..Nationally recognized and locally owned, Lunchbox Laboratory will be opening its’ third location in Gig Harbor in mid-October. The opening will bring a wildly popular, electric restaurant and several new jobs to Gig Harbor.
“We will be hiring 50-60 employees for front and back of the house,” said General Manager Chuck Huck.
The new restaurant site is located at Point Fosdick Square, 4901 Point Fosdick Drive NW in Gig Harbor.
John Schmidt’s Neighborhood Grills, along with partners Arnold and Constance Shain of the Restaurant Group, have joined forces to open the Gig Harbor Lunchbox Laboratory. They also own the current Lunchbox Laboratory locations in South Lake Union and Bellevue.
Lunchbox Laboratory is nationally recognized and has been featured on The Food Network and on KING 5’s Evening Magazine. They have also been in many national publications including Gourmet Magazine, Bon Appetit, New York Times, Food & Wine Magazine, and Sunset Magazine.
Lunchbox Laboratory’s large cult following began at their original site in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood. Fans recognized their uniqueness in serving eclectic, extra large burgers, smothered in sauces and flavored specialty salts. Once claimed by a fan as “the best burger in America or anywhere else.” Every beef burger is made from American Kobe style beef and comes on a locally made, fresh baked, organic Kaiser roll. Lunchbox is also loved for their zany sauce flavors, where the first 2 are free, including smoked pepper mayo, jalapeno ranch, gorgonzola spread, Satan’s tears ketchup and black truffle mayo, just to name a few. Quality, unique and local ingredients are at top priority for Lunchbox Laboratory.
One of Lunchbox’s most popular burgers, “Burger of the God’s” boasts a super beef patty piled high with bleu cheese crumbles, candied balsamic onions and a super gorgonzola spread. The “As seen on TV” Dork Burger features a top secret house blend of duck & pork with garlic mayo, Monterey jack cheese and lunchbox onions. All burgers come with choice of skinny fries, crispy tots, potato salad, sweet potato fries, mac du jour or housemade chips.
Considered the “Best Milkshake” in town by USA Today.com, Seattle Magazine, Seattle Weekly and more, the hand spun milkshakes are made with Snoqualmie All Natural Ice Cream. Flavors include Whopper, Creamsicle, Boston Crème Donut and Nutella along with a dozen plus other funky flavors. The ever popular “Drunken Elvis” is the top seller under the menu’s “Boozie Shakes.” Additionally, a full bar with an eclectic menu of specialty drinks are also a popular piece of the Lunchbox concept. Experimental Cocktails bring a twist to the menu with creative masterpieces like “Root Beer Barrels” and the “Tang-o-Rita.”
John Schmidt and his team began looking for a new site in Gig Harbor months ago. “We wanted to bring this very fun, unique concept to Gig Harbor because there is nothing like this there,” said John, “plus the city of Gig Harbor is booming and we want to be a part of the action!” “This product is way ahead of the curve when looking at gourmet burger menus. Our chef’s have done an amazing job combining quality ingredients in zany combinations, creating a very unique, spectacular product,” he added. “Not your everyday burger, believe me. This plus a full bar with equally creative cocktail recipes and friendly neighborhood style service make for one AWESOME experience.”
Neighborhood Grills has opened six restaurants in the Puget Sound Region since 2002 including Greenlake Bar & Grill, Eastlake Bar & Grill, Lake Forest Bar & Grill and Bremerton Bar & Grill.
