MAKING MUSIC IN GIG HARBOR
Gig Harbor, Wash. – February 2013 Since 1994 Dan and May Wilson have been operating “Allstar Guitar” in Gig Harbor. This month marks a significant change for the business, as they have opened in their new location, 3110 Harborview Drive, doubling their retail and music academy space.
The new space, above Spiro’s Pizza, fulfills a dream for the couple, to expand the music academy. Although the service aspect of the business has always been their bread and butter, they can now accommodate as many as 400 students at the academy. “Every kid should have something in the arts and something in sports they can enjoy” Wilson said. “We are trying to make music available to everyone.”
The new space opens an opportunity for the academy to expand into wind instruments. Instruction is now available in guitar, piano, electric guitar, banjo, all wind instruments, drums, cello, ukulele, violin, bass, mandolin, voice and more.
The store is now open Monday – Thursday 11am-7pm, Friday 11am-6pm and Saturday 11am-5pm. The public is invited to a grand opening celebration on Saturday February 23, 2013 from 4-7pm. During the grand opening visitors will receive discount coupons for future purchases and there will be a drawing for a free month of lessons and guitar rental. The grand opening celebration is in the middle of a d-day sale at the new store, from February 22nd-24th.
