Project Description

This project involves replacement of the old pier at the City owned property located at the intersection of Soundview Drive and Harborview Drive. The existing creosote treated timber pier will be demolished. A new viewing area (21 X 24) will be built over the lower bulkhead plus a new fixed timber pier (156 X 18) supported by steel piles, a new aluminum gangway and a new timber float (12.5 X 40) will be constructed.

Anticipated Upcoming Project Schedule

The contractor hired by the City to perform the work will start mobilizing to the site this Friday. Demolition of the existing pier will start next week.

Some public parking will be restricted at the site during progress of this work.

Some materials will be delivered by truck. Tomorrow (8/1/2012), the contractor will deliver a large bin to the site to be used as a receptacle for debris from demolition of the existing pier. Traffic will be impacted during delivery of this dumpster.

Project Milestones

· City Council awarded the contract to Redside Construction, LLC June 25th.

· Notice to Proceed date is July 25th.
