Meaningful Movies in Gig Harbor Presents the Documentary "Strangers in Town"
Meaningful Movies in Gig Harbor presents the documentary “Strangers in Town” on Friday, October 11, 2019, 6 pm for snacks and socializing; 6:30 pm for the movie. Held at 11051 Peacock Hill, inside Agnus Dei Church.
"Come for the free movie. Stay for the stimulating community discussion."
“Strangers in Town” is a passionate, beautiful film that makes you believe in the American dream again. The film tells the story of how global migration unexpectedly transformed and enriched Garden City. It brought great challenges to the community, including demands for housing, social services, education, and infrastructure. For the current students at Garden City High School, the town’s remarkable diversity is all they’ve ever known. “Strangers in Town” gives new meaning to the city’s motto: “the world grows here,” and provides an inspiring view of human possibility in the face of change.
Special Guest: Kitsap Immigrant Assistance Center
