Preview The Pearl Fishers Opera at Gig Harbor Library

Seattle opera expert Norm Hollingshead shares insight into Georges Bizet’s work

Join Seattle opera expert Norm Hollingshead as he shares an entertaining and enthusiastic free preview of “The Pearl Fishers” at 2 p.m. on Sept. 13 at Gig Harbor Pierce County Library, 4424 Point Fosdick Drive N.W. in Gig Harbor. In the Georges Bizet, story, a pair of fishermen who share a brotherly bond pursue an alluring priestess with a mysterious past. Honor, jealousy and communal duty complicate the love triangle, but a long-buried secret saves the day. Sponsored by Friends of the Gig Harbor Library. The preview also will be held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 26 at Lakewood Pierce County Library and at 7 p.m. on Sept. 29 at Milton/Edgewood Pierce County Library.
