Road closures September 1st along Borgen Boulevard near Peacock Hill

Construction of roadway improvements necessary for the Heron’s Key and Harbor Hill developments to take place beginning September 1st.

A section of Borgen Boulevard needs to be rebuilt and re-aligned so there will be intermittent major impacts due to alternating traffic through a single lane. Specifically, a section of Borgen just to the west of the roundabout at Peacock Hill – needs to be completely rebuilt (the entire roadway section, including the base and sub-base along with the asphalt) and will temporarily be gravel for about one week prior to paving on September 8. This will impact roundabout operations as there will be flaggers stationed at each leg to control the single lane flow while the roadway is being reconstructed. There is also work to widen Borgen Boulevard and install turn lanes at the Heron’s Key roadway entrance.

The major impacts will occur for approximately one week, starting tomorrow and ending once the section is paved (currently scheduled for September 8). This work is weather dependent and the schedule may change if weather is an issue.
