Summer Line Up Announced for Gig Harbor Outdoor Movies!

Gig Harbor, Wash. February 28, 2011 The City of Gig Harbor has announced the line up for CINEMAGIG OUTDOORS 2011.  The extremely popular free outdoor movie series will begin on July 8th and run every other weekend through August 20th.  All movies start at dusk. Friday “Classic” movies are held at Donkey Creek Park and Saturday “Family” movies are held at Skansie Brothers Park.

 

This year the final weekend will be FAMILY WEEKEND with a special focus on ocean environment.  Friday night FREE WILLY will play at Donkey Creek Park and Saturday Disney’s OCEANS will play at Skansie Brothers Park.  On hand for this evening will be Gig Harbor’s Harbor WildWatch team to discuss the importance of our fragile ocean eco-system. 

 

CinemaGig Outdoors is made possible by the city of Gig Harbor and MultiCare Gig Harbor Medical Park with assistance from the Gig Harbor Kiwanis and the Gig Harbor Film Festival.

Friday July 8th, approximate start time 9:15PM at Donkey Creek Park "Yankee Doodle Dandy", with James Cagney

Saturday July 9th, approximate start time 9:15PM at Skansie Brothers Park

"Despicable Me", hilarious animated film featuring Steve Carrell

Friday July 22nd, approximate start time 9:00PM at Donkey Creek Park "Shane", classic 1953 western

Saturday July 23rd, approximate start time 9:00PM at Skansie Brothers Park

"Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs", animated film

Friday August 5th, approximate start time 8:30PM at Donkey Creek Park

"JAWS", 1970’s Classic

Saturday August 6th, approximate start time 8:30PM at Skansie Brothers Park

"Scooby Doo", featuring Gig Harbor’s own Matthew Lillard

 

AND OUR SPECIAL FAMILY WEEKEND

Friday August 19th, approximate start time 8:15PM at Donkey Creek Park

"Free Willy" – 1990’s classic film on friendship

Saturday August 20th, approximate start time 8:15PM at Skansie Brothers Park

Disney’s "Oceans" – with special guests from Harbor WildWatch
