Gig Harbor, Wa – May 20, 2013 – The Gig Harbor Film Festival is pleased to announce the return of the popular 72 Hour Film Competition, proudly sponsored by U.S. Bank. Last year twenty films were screened to a completely sold out audience at the festival. Filmmakers will once again find several fun reasons to enter this year’s competition!

· First Place Team in each of the two age categories will be awarded with a trophy and $250 cash! (18 and younger, 19 and older)

· Top scoring films will be shown during the festival in the state-of-the-art world class Galaxy Theatre on the BIG screen!

· T-Shirts! Up to 5 Team Members will receive the 2013 version of the 72 Hour Film Competition T-Shirt and attend the 72 Hour Film Competition showing free of charge!

· A great opportunity to showcase your creativity and filmmaking skills to an appreciative crowd!

Filming will take place this summer on the weekend of July 25 – 28! Top scoring films will be shown as part of the Gig Harbor Film Festival on Sunday, October 20th. Teams may consist of up to five team members plus the cast. To register for the competition, stop in at the festival office from 10am – 5pm, Monday – Friday, June 17th, through June 28th. There is a $25 registration fee for the competition. The Gig Harbor Film Festival office is located next to the Galaxy Theatres at Uptown Gig Harbor.
