Wheels on the Water Car Show is Back for its 2nd Year!

Gig Harbor, WA – The Wheel’s on the Water Car Show is back by popular demand at this year’s Maritime Gig Festival. Cars, trucks, and vintage tractors were showcased at the debut of the car show last year. Event coordinators expect another great group of vehicles again this year.

On Sunday, June 8th vehicles will be on display from 11am – 4:30pm in front of Skansie Brothers Park on the closed portion of Harborview Drive between Pioneer Way and Rosedale Street. Those who would like to put their vehicle on display should pre-register now as space for this show is limited to about 50 cars! The registration fee is $10; however the event is free to the public, as are all events during the Maritime Gig Festival. Participants can get their pre-registration form and all the necessary details online at Car Show trophies, presented by Rainier Collision, will be awarded in up to 10 categories with judging beginning at noon, with an award presentation on stage at Skansie Brothers Park at 2:45pm.

There are several activities that will be going on throughout the day. The Gig Harbor Farmer's Market will also be featured at the Gig on Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.. Children will also find the popular inflatable Pirate Ship and the Springfree Trampoline at the park on Sunday.

Sunday activities also include the traditional Blessing of the Fleet at 1pm. The yacht festival from Saturday will continue on the expanded temporary docks, and musical entertainment from community performers will take place starting at 10:30 a.m. For the first time ever the legendary Shy Boys will be closing out the Maritime Gig. Be sure to snag yourself a seat! It will be a performance you won’t want to miss.
